The Dyfri Herd is now 25 years old and over the years through selective buying and breeding we believe we have built up a herd of some considerable genetic and visual merit.

The number of cattle that we now run is way ahead of what we can reasonably house for the coming winter; we therefore must now reduce the herd size.

The following classes of female are available as individuals or in groups:

• Cows - including many daughters of Jockey with calves or in calf to Senateur or Dyfri Adam.
• Bulling and Bulled Heifers – sired by Nectar and Senateur.
• Maiden Heifers – sired by Nectar and Senateur.
• Weaned Heifer Calves – sired by Senateur and Dyfri Adam

Almost every animal has a price tag at Dyfri. You can be assured of finding something, with depth of breeding, to suit all pockets. And, we charge nothing for a look around!

June 2009 - Dyfri Adam 1st Royal Welsh Senior Bull Class

On his only show outing this year he took the scalps of the 2 big winners in English shows this year! Judged by William Smith of the famed Millbrook herd, Ireland, a red card at this show of 110 Limousins – the best seen by many in the UK – is a prized possession.

This son of NECTAR out of the Jockey daughter Dyfri Ujour is another cracking bull from the Tanhill Toujour family.

April 2008

Sadly we lost JOCKEY earlier this month because of the degeneration of an old pelvic injury which was making it increasingly difficult for him to get to his feet.

At 14 years 1month he had a good innings and has left us a legacy of a cow herd where almost every animal carries his bloodline.

He was the first Limousin bull to sire 10 bulls to realise £10,000 or more. His daughters have now taken that statistic further, producing many sale-topping cattle recently.

Arguably, a legend in his own lifetime, we have limited stocks of semen left that is also export qualified. Please contact us for availability.

Dyfri Adam retained as Junior Stock Bull

DYFRI ADAM was Junior Champion at the Royal Welsh Show in 2006 (Judge – Robert Graham)

He is a NECTAR son of the Jockey daughter DYFRI PRINCESS

Having lost Nectar in the 2007 at 9 years old, but far too soon as his work in the herd had only just begun.

The decision was then made to retain Adam in order to continue the influence of this important bloodline in the herd.

Present Stock Bulls

In addition to Adam the 2 senior Stock bulls have proved to be prolific sires of both males and females.

PANTIN progeny are easily calved and are growthy, muscular cattle. With his eldest daughters now calving their fourth crop of calves, he is proving to be a trait leader for the important maternal traits of milk and fertility.

SENATEUR –the gentle giant - has exceptional figures with a Beef Value of LM46 His first daughters to calve suggest that he will also be exceptional for maternal traits.
